Our Story
NewSong Church was birthed in December 1993 in a Shaker Heights home. The founding pastors, Randy and Becky Young, began with 40 other individuals. God had laid it upon their hearts to start a diverse church that would reach the Greater Heights area. The name of the church, NewSong, reflected the heart of the leadership team toward God's spirit of unity, love and life "sung" throughout the Heights and the world.
During this time, NewSong grew through relationships in large group gatherings on Sundays and small groups gatherings in homes throughout the area. In 2004, God led Randy and Becky Young to do His work elsewhere. The Elders asked Mark Miller who was serving as the Executive Pastor to step into the interim role of Lead Pastor.
However, NewSong had no location to call their home. They worshiped God and built relationships from place to place. Not long after Pastor Randy's departure, NewSong inherited property in Orange Village. They decided to continue to meet in the building they rented in Cleveland Heights along with this new campus. Sunday morning contained two services in two different locations. With this addition, NewSong became a "Multi-site" Church--One Church with Two Locations.
In 2007, Ron and Jemma Bradley arrived at NewSong to fill the role of Senior Pastor about two years after Mark Miller moved on. Pastor Ron previously was a Professor and Campus Pastor at Central Bible Bible in Springfield, Missouri, where he served for ten years. He is following the direction of God to build upon the foundation of the first 14 years of the church. Diversity remains a staple of the church. NewSong has been blessed with owning a second property--this one in Cleveland Heights. In 2008, they bought what was formerly the Severance Athletic Club.
Exciting days are ahead for NewSong Church. We invite you to join us in the work that He has called us to. The best is surely yet to come...
